Festive tablescape and table centre workshop

A creative and relaxed winter flower arranging workshop. Qualified florist Ashley of Ash Tree Floral Designs will guide you through creating a unique and beautiful festive table installation using seasonal flowers and foliage.

Festive Floral Skills: Staircase Installation Workshop

Increase your confidence, skills, and knowledge in planning, costing, and executing a large scale staircase design, suitable for special events such as festive venue dressing for weddings and events.

Price: £150 pp (option to join both morning staircase installation workshop and afternoon festive tablescape session for £225, a saving of 10%).

At this unique and creative workshop, you will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience of creating a stunning, festive staircase design.

• Working with an abundance of winter foliages and dried florals, you will spend the morning working as a team to create a stunning staircase display to be enjoyed by guests at Berrow Court during the festive season.
• Your questions answered about how to sufficiently plan and cost bespoke floral displays for future clients.
• You will have the opportunity to take lots of photographs for your portfolio to show prospective clients and use on social media.
• Access to professional photography and videography of our workshop to use on your socials and website.
• This workshop is a lovely chance to create and collaborate with other like-minded florists, to build your portfolio, hone your skills and increase your confidence.
• Our festive floral skills workshop is an intensive morning of practical flower arranging suitable for enthusiastic beginners with a basic level of floristry skills and professional floral designers looking to build their portfolio.
• Light refreshments will be provided
• Option to stay for a networking lunch and afternoon festive tablescape workshop.

What to bring/wear

• All tools, equipment and flowers will be provided.
• Please wear flat closed toe shoes for health and safety.
• Wear appropriate clothing for flower arranging and working with plant material

Terms

• Minimum numbers are required for this event to run; however, numbers will be capped at 8 participants.
• If the event does not run due to host cancellation your deposit and any monies paid will be refunded.
• £150pp for morning staircase session (£225 a 10% discount for morning staircase installation workshop, networking lunch and afternoon festive tablescape workshop).
• If you have any food allergies or special dietary needs, please let me know upon booking so arrangements can be made for your lunch and refreshments.
• We are fully insured and will be working in a safe and responsible manner. You will, however, be required to sign a participation waiver and release form upon booking. Please inform us of any injuries or limitations you may have that could affect your participation.

Meet your hosts

Ashley of Ash Tree Floral Designs is an experienced qualified florist and tutor based in Birmingham. She specialises in creative and bespoke wedding florals and workshops. Her floristry style is wild and relaxed but always beautiful and contemporary. Ashley has a passion for teaching and sharing her floral experience (and mistakes!) with others.

Ruth of Oversley Flowers is an experienced artisan flower grower and florist based in Alcester, Warwickshire. I grow a wonderful selection of beautiful English garden flowers for local florists. I am passionate about flowers, creativity and design and love bringing natural ingredients inside to make an impact

Ashley and Ruth are both passionate about sustainability and British flowers. This is their third floral installation workshop. Ashley and Ruth often work together on weddings and events creating floral displays with seasonal and locally grown flowers and using eco-friendly and sustainable floral mechanics.

Venue information

We are very excited to be invited to host this festive floral skills workshop at Berrow Court, a wonderful Grade II listed Victorian mansion in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham.

This exclusive workshop will take place at Berrow Court. We will be working in small groups to decorate the house’s impressive ornate staircase with fresh and dried seasonal foliage and flowers to be enjoyed by guests over the festive period.

This splendid grade II listed Victorian Mansion was once the home of the distinguished politician Joseph Chamberlain.

Built in the “arts and crafts” style, Berrow Court is set in three acres of beautiful gardens. In the late eighties the house fell into disrepair, laying empty for several years, before the Parsons family acquired it and undertook the monumental task of returning the house, and its gardens to their former glory.

The magnificent residence is now one of Birmingham’s most sought after venues for wedding receptions, private dining and conferences, accommodating up to 130 seated guests for wedding breakfasts and private dining. Buffet-style dining can be provided for up to 300 guests.
