Funeral flowers

Natural funeral flowers

Funeral flowers are such an important part of saying farewell and remembering and celebrating the lives of family and special friends. My displays are carefully designed to reflect the love and care felt by those who have lost a loved one.

My floral and foliage designs provide an alternative to the more traditional funeral flowers offered. I promote a garden-gathered, relaxed ‘wildflower’ style which really lets the flowers speak for themselves. Always fresh, natural and beautiful, my arrangements can be gentle and reflective or if preferred can be lively, bright and cheerful.

This natural style is often selected by friends and families of gardeners, and those who love the outdoors and care for the environment.

Some example requests  I have received: ‘wildflower style’, ‘cottage garden style’, ‘English meadow’  ‘hedgerow style’  ‘summer extravaganza of flowers’  ‘a reflection of the garden’  ‘I will leave it to you just make it bright and cheerful’!

All my designs are bespoke: no two arrangements will be the same and are designed to reflect the loved one being remembered. The designs can be traditional or ‘wildflower’ in style and examples of design include:

  • Floral sheaf – A lovely selection of seasonal flowers and foliage, hand-tied with raffia or hessian which lies flat on top of the coffin – 2 or 3feet long
  • Floral spray – A traditional style double-ended arrangement of beautiful seasonal flowers and foliage in a moss base varying in size from 2 – 5 feet
  • Wreath – A circular moss base filled with flowers and foliage.
  • Bespoke designs to reflect the loved ones interests

Annual memorial tributes

Many people like to remember loved ones each year and take time to think and reminisce about past times. This often includes placing flowers on a favourite spot – maybe in a garden, at the natural burial ground, in the church yard, on a bench or on a favourite walk.

My flower designs can vary according to customer needs and the proposed locations of memorial flowers.

  • Fresh flowers memorial wreath on a moss base
  • Fresh flower, small sheaf which will lie flat in a favourite spot
  • Dried flowers sheaf, designed to lie flat
  • Posy of fresh flowers, hand tied and wrapped with raffia
  • A posy of flowers on a palm leaf tray with the flowers arranged in a moss base
  • Bouquet of flowers

I am able to deliver funeral flowers to the local funeral directors or to a customer’s home. A small delivery charge is made for local deliveries within 8 miles of Alcester, with the option of collection from my plot in Oversley Green for those outside my delivery area.

An invoice will be sent on the receipt of the order.  My preferred payment is by bank transfer (BACS) and all the details are provided on the invoice. Payment by credit or debit card is also available. Payment is politely requested before the delivery or collection of the flowers.
